Context

Demelina is a professional moving company serving the Greater Montréal area. They offer residential, commercial, and long-distance relocation services across Québec and beyond. With a growing client base and strong Google reviews, they needed a web presence that matched the quality of their service.

The Challenge

Demelina needed more than a simple brochure site. They required a platform that would rank for local moving keywords across dozens of service areas in Greater Montréal, convert visitors into quote requests, and support both French and English audiences. The site also needed structured data for rich search results and fast mobile performance, since most customers search for movers on their phones during a stressful time.

What We Built

We designed and developed a custom WordPress theme from scratch, built on the Foundation 6 framework for a solid responsive grid system. The architecture is organized around three custom post types — Services, Locations, and Long Distance — each with their own taxonomy, templates, and schema markup.

  • Custom post types for Services, Service Areas (locations), and Long-Distance routes — making it easy for Demelina to manage hundreds of SEO-optimized pages
  • Online quote request form with address capture, move type selection, date picker, and file uploads — integrated with Contact Form 7 and tracked via Google Tag Manager
  • Comprehensive JSON-LD structured data — LocalBusiness, Service, Organization, and AggregateRating schemas for rich search results
  • Google Reviews integration — displaying real review count and rating to build trust
  • Bilingual support via WPML — full French and English versions with language-specific schemas, form IDs, and contact information
  • WordPress Customizer panel — allowing the client to update key settings (page references, Google review data, placeholder images) without touching code
  • Performance-optimized — Gulp-based build pipeline with minified CSS/JS, optimized images, and fast page loads
  • Mobile-first responsive design — tested across devices, with touch-friendly navigation and call-to-action buttons

Results

The site gives Demelina a scalable platform to target local search traffic across every neighbourhood and city they serve. The location-based content strategy, combined with proper schema markup and fast load times, positions them well for organic growth in a highly competitive market.
