Context
Demelina is a professional moving company serving the Greater Montréal area. They offer residential, commercial, and long-distance relocation services across Québec and beyond. With a growing client base and strong Google reviews, they needed a web presence that matched the quality of their service.
The Challenge
Demelina needed a site that would rank for local moving keywords across dozens of service areas in Greater Montréal, convert visitors into quote requests, and support both French and English audiences. The site also needed structured data for rich search results and fast mobile performance, since most customers search for movers on their phones during a stressful time.
What We Built
We designed and developed a custom WordPress theme from scratch, built on the Foundation 6 grid. The architecture is organized around three custom post types (Services, Locations and Long Distance), each with its own taxonomy, templates and schema markup.
- Custom post types for Services, Service Areas (locations), and Long-Distance routes, so Demelina’s team can manage hundreds of service and location pages
- Online quote request form with address capture, move type selection, date picker, and file uploads, built on Contact Form 7, with submissions tracked in Google Tag Manager
- Comprehensive JSON-LD structured data: LocalBusiness, Service, Organization and AggregateRating schemas for rich search results
- Google Reviews integration: the Google review count and rating shown on the site, updated from the Customizer
- Bilingual support via WPML: complete French and English versions, each with its own schema, forms and contact information
- WordPress Customizer panel: Demelina’s team updates key settings (page references, Google review data, placeholder images) without editing code
- Performance-optimized: a Gulp build pipeline that minifies CSS and JavaScript and optimizes images
- Mobile-first responsive design: tested across devices, with navigation and call-to-action buttons sized for touch
Results
The site gives Demelina a scalable platform to target local search traffic across every neighbourhood and city they serve. Each new service, area or long-distance page inherits the templates and schema markup of its content type, so Demelina’s team can add pages without a developer.
Demelina still runs on this build, and its own team writes and publishes the pages. In October 2026 its sitemaps list 46 service pages, 242 area pages and 89 long-distance pages across French and English, all built on the three content types described above, along with more than 120 blog posts. Because the pages are light and each carries its own schema markup, the site ranks well for moving searches in many of the cities Demelina serves. WPlook Studio also hosts the site on WPL Hosting.
